We are delighted to have received not one but two nominations for the North German Landscape Architecture Award 2026!
Herbert Wehner straightens his tweed jacket – the Herbert-und-Greta-Wehner-Platz in Hamburg-Harburg, named after him and his wife, is the first nomination. The natural stone elements, inspired by the smoke rings of the passionate pipe smoker, and the locally characteristic clinker paving define the character of the square.
The Dorothea-Buck-Park is the second nominee. Atop the noise barrier covering the A7 motorway, a place has been created for picnics, allotment gardeners, and neighbourhood children – freely inspired by Manet's painting "Le déjeuner sur l'herbe."
