Jörg Michel is founder and owner of POLA Landschaftsarchitekten GmbH. His approach is
based on a process-orientated practice that creates, restores and enhances the urban and
natural environments. The idea of a site’s cultural and emotional resonance is paramount
to his work. Prior to founding POLA, Jörg was Partner at Locodrom, and he was previously
Landscape Designer and Office Manager at firms in Berlin, Munich and Toronto.
Jörg was Visiting Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental
Planning at the University for Applied Sciences Berlin, and served as Lecturer in the
Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Bernburg. He
holds professional degrees in Landscape Architecture, Fine Arts and Landscape Gardening
and is a registered member of the Federation of German Landscape Architects (BDLA -
Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekten), the International Federation of Landscape
Architects (IFLA), and the Chamber of Architects Berlin (Architektenkammer Berlin).
